Prestwick Burns Club

The Prestwick Burns Club held their AGM on April 20th in the RAFA club premises. Club President Cronie Jack Wilson thanked the members for their support and enthusiasm through the last year. He was glad to see a substantial increase in membership and the success of the programme including a first class Burns Supper had been heartening.  He had particular words of appreciation for the work of the Cronie Secretary and Treasurer and other committee members. He then demitted office and handed over the Presidency for 2010-11 to Cronie Robert White who had worked hard as Vice president this session.   Re-elected secretary was Jimmy Coutts, Treasurer Cronie Ian Moffat and elected to the committee were Cronies Bruce, Cameron, MacIntyre and MacDougall .

There was considerable discussion about next winter’s programme including a St Andrew’s Night function probably to be held in the RAFA club premises as would be the 2011 Burns Supper. Members discussed the proportion of the speeches and entertainment which might be provided by non club members or members of other Burns clubs in future years.

The next event on June 2nd will be the summer outing and the secretary will be sending details of that to all   at the beginning of May. Meanwhile gentlemen wishing to find out about the club are asked to telephone our secretary on 01292 470352.
