Christmas, Ne'erday and Burns Night. What's next? 03/03/10!

Ayrshire will soon be getting ready to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley's one and only visit to Scotland on 3rd March (1960), when he touched down at the Robert Burns International Airport, (not Glasgow) Prestwick, in Burns Country.  Ayrshire will see Elvis's of all shapes and sizes walking and driving round. We'll hear Elvis songs being belted out from bars, clubs, houses and cars.

Might as well get some Elvis themed parties on the go. Start planning now folks, the 3rd of March 2010 is nearly upon us.

So far only heard of "The King of the Castle" theme night at New Cumnock but that's 25 miles away from the airport. I'll let you know as soon as I learn of any more events.

I was a teenage member of the RAF working in Air Traffic Control (Redbrae) and saw Elvis In 1960. 50 years later I'd like to know and visit the Airport if something commemorative is happening on the evening of 3rd March? Any info would be much appreciated. REgards, Denis Price.

Momentous anniversary is looming for ELVIS fans. Ayrshire performer Jesse Garron who is hugely influenced by Elvis aims to mark the occasion by putting on a blockbuster show in Prestwick Academy. Jesse's Elvis - Prestwick Five-O show is on Wednesday, March 3 in the 300-seater state-of-the-art Prestwick Academy theatre.

Showtime is 7.30pm, to coincide with the time Elvis flew in. Tickets are £10. Email jamie@jessegarron.co.uk or telephone (01563) 850100.

Jesse Garon Presley was the name given to Elvis' twin brother, who was stillborn 35 minutes before Elvis was delivered.
