Prestwick Airport set for significant job losses
14 JulyPrestwick Airport looks set for big job cuts, with managers ready to talk to unions about possible redundancies, due largely to a big fall in passenger numbers at the airport.
Prestwick Airport managers said they had informed staff and unions that a 90-day consultation period would begin on 16 August.
The firm said this would examine ways to reduce costs and would likely lead to redundancies.
The airport announced in February last year that it would shed 120 jobs as a result of the economic downturn.
