Prestwick couple celebrate golden anniversary

  • Jack and Janette Wilson with Provost Moonie mark the 50th anniversary

Jack and Janette Wilson from Westbourne Gardens in Prestwick have marked a golden occasion as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple met at St Andrew's University in 1960 when they had both their heads in the books, but clearly there were degrees of attraction as, two years later, they started a new chapter in life by marrying at Tranent Church in East Lothian.

Provost Helen Moonie made a special visit to mark the special occasion, and presented the pair with a commemorative card and a basket of flowers

Jack and Janette have two daughters and four grandchildren.
